the design process
Spaces with purpose. Designed around the way you live.
Design starts with getting to know you.
Your lifestyle, your taste, what you love, what you don’t, what you already own, and how you want your space to feel. Whether we’re working with pieces you already have, incorporating new finds, or starting completely from scratch, the process is collaborative from beginning to end.
My goal is to create a space that feels personal, intentional, and reflective of the person living in it.
-
We start with you and your space.
We’ll talk through your lifestyle, preferences, aesthetic, functionality, colors, textures, and the overall feeling you want your space to have.
We’ll also determine what you already own and want to incorporate, what may need to be replaced, and where we may want to introduce something completely new.
This gives us the foundation for the design.
-
We establish the creative direction.
From our conversations, I begin developing the overall concept for your space.
This is where we explore the aesthetic, atmosphere, color palette, materials, textures, finishes, prints, and the elements that will bring the vision together.
The goal is to create a clear design direction before we begin selecting individual pieces.
-
The concept becomes visual.
The mood board brings the design direction to life.
It combines colors, textures, materials, furniture styles, lighting, artwork, finishes, and other visual elements to create a cohesive picture of where we’re headed.
This gives us something tangible to look at, discuss, and refine together before moving into the space itself.
Not ready for the full design process?
Mood boards are also available à la carte, giving you a clear visual direction to take and run with on your own.
-
Now we bring the space together.
With the design direction established, we begin selecting and arranging the elements that will make up the space.
This may mean working with pieces you already own, sourcing new pieces, incorporating vintage or collected finds, or starting completely from scratch.
I then bring those selections together digitally so we can visualize the space as a whole, explore placement, proportions, finishes, and details, and see how everything works together before anything is finalized.
-
Design is a collaboration.
We’ll review the direction together, talk through what is and isn’t resonating, and make adjustments along the way.
I want you to feel involved in the process and confident in the final direction. There isn’t a magic number of revisions that determines when we’re finished. We continue refining until the design feels cohesive, functional, and true to you.
Because the goal isn’t simply to create a beautiful room.
It’s to create a space that truly feels like yours.
NEED SOMETHING MORE FLEXIBLE?
Not every project needs the full design process.

DESIGN GUIDANCE: A focused consultation for those moments when you need another set of eyes, a second opinion, or help making a design decision.
STANDALONE MOOD BOARD: Need the visual direction but want to take the project from there yourself? A mood board can be purchased independently.
